In this video from LetsTalkIBD, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) sufferer Maggie Baldwin talks about NG (nasogastric) tubes and how patients living with them can make life easier.
As well as working as a nurse and having to help patients with their NG tubes, Maggie also knows what they are like from personal experience. She was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 11 and has used them regularly for overnight NG feeds.
Maggie offers advice on how best to insert and remove an NG tube and make the experience as quick and pain-free as possible. She also shares her tips on how to get used to how it feels as quickly as possible and be able to eat and drink with an NG tube.
