4. Use of certain medications

Studies have shown increased risks of IBD among people who use isotretinoin for acne treatment. Using pain killers and pain relievers including aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen could contribute to the formation of gastrointestinal ulcers, which complicates IBD.
