Man Tries to Beat World Push-Up Record for IBD Charity

According to an article in the Press and Journal, Ed Corrie decided to raise money for a Crohn’s and Colitis charity by attempting to break the world record for the number of push-ups (also known as press-ups) completed in an hour.

Corrie suffers from Crohn’s disease, and because of that he found he couldn’t physically do many types of exercise. However, he was able to keep fit and build his strength by doing push-ups. He became so good at them that he decided he would challenge the current world record of 2,392 push-ups in one hour.

Sadly, Corrie just fell short of the record but did manage to complete a very impressive 2,175 push-ups in the time allotted and raised £6,000 ($7,500) for the charity which helps over 300,000 Brits diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. He hopes to attempt the challenge again later in the year.
