According to an article in the Press and Journal, Ed Corrie decided to raise money for a Crohn's and Colitis charity by attempting to break the world record for the number of push-ups (also known as press-ups) completed in an hour. However, he was able to keep fit and build his strength by doing push-ups. He became so good at them that he decided he would challenge the current world record of 2,392 push-ups in one hour. Sadly, Corrie just fell short of the record but did manage to complete a very impressive 2,175 push-ups in the time allotted and raised £6,000 ($7,500) for the charity which helps over 300,000 Brits diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease.
