IBD – Pathophysiology, Complications Illustrated

Armando Hasudungan shared this illustrated video on his YouTube channel earlier this year to explain the differences between the two main inflammatory bowel diseases — Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Check out the pathophysiology of the two conditions and their common complications. In other words: find out how they work.

Hasudungan draws using colored markers to show colon cancer risk, perforation and abscesses in people who struggle with Crohn’s disease.  He also shows bowel rupture and hemorrhaging that can inflict ulcerative colitis patients. Additionally, we learn a few things about genetic and environmental factors.
