This video from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation shares details on how Crohn’s disease develops, its symptoms, and the treatment options available for those who suffer from the condition.

The video explains that Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that can affect any part of a person’s GI tract, including the mouth, esophagus, rectum and anus. However, it mostly affects patients’ small and large intestines where it causes the intestines’ walls to become inflamed.

Symptoms of Crohn’s disease include intestinal pain, diarrhea, bloody stools, weight loss, fatigue and vitamin deficiencies.  The management of these symptoms can differ from patient to patient but can usually be controlled through diet and medication.
