There have been various studies about diet and the effects it has on the development of IBD, including a study in Japan which found eating a lot of animal protein increased the risk of Crohn’s disease. Other studies have found that diets high in fat and sugar also contribute to the risk of inflammatory bowel disease.

      Unfortunately, that just may be all too true. It is a devastating disease on both the person suffering with it and the family as well.
